I’m bipolar and I need help. I don’t feel anything again; like I’m trying hard to be happy but I can’t.
My dad said I’m depressed but I don’t know what to feel again. It started when I was really young. I hardly make friends; like it’s hard for me. If I eventually do it doesn’t last as I start regretting everything😔
At home everyone calls me a sadist
Please I need help

Sadly for now, there’s no cure for this disorder… I am also bipolar sort of buh I’ve learnt to live with it and you know, i’m getting better right… The first thing is that just tryna admit that it’s not capable of overcoming you… Engage yourself regularly… When you’re in the mood of ecstasy, enjoy it to the fullest before getting depressed….. If you’re the spiritual type, you can tell God about it buh the most important thing is that try to keep engaging yourself in activities that interest you
Dealing with the ups and downs of bipolar disorder can be difficult—and not just for the person with the illness. The moods and behaviors of a person with bipolar disorder affect everyone around—especially family members and close friends. It can put a strain on your relationship and disrupt all aspects of family life During a manic episode, you may have to cope with reckless antics, outrageous demands, explosive outbursts, and irresponsible decisions. And once the whirlwind of mania has passed, it often falls on you to deal with the consequences. During episodes of depression, you may have to pick up the slack for a loved one who doesn’t have the energy to meet responsibilities at home or work.
This condition cannot be cured, it is usually lifelong but can be managed ie there’s no cure for bipolar disorder but treatment enables one to manage it, some lifestyle adaptation can also help alongside medications. The most effective treatment for bipolar disorder is a combination of medication and psychotherapy. Most people take more than one drug, like mood-stabilizering drugs carbamal – carbamazepine (tegretol), and antipsychotics, benzodiazepine, risperidone or antidepressants.
I am surprised to see people say there’s no cure for bipolar disorder. While I agree that there’s no cure, there is a way of managing it, used a lot in the western world. And that’s the use of some specific lithium salts. I’m also surprised to see nobody say that it’s wrong to self-diagnose a mental disorder, even if it looks like what you see portrayed in the media, or on the internet, because mental disorders are often more complex than they appear and definitely more complex than they are usually portrayed in the media. In real-life, it’s not so cut-and-dried, so it’s wrong to self-diagnose. Besides, this person didn’t mention anything about a manic or hypomanic episode. Bipolar isn’t occasional depression. There has to be some form of hypomania or mania there. Even if it’s type 2 bipolar or cyclothymia. I really do sympathize with this person though. Mental issues can be so depressingly isolating. While professional help is the best, the person shouldn’t shun the help of those around them. They should try to open up to someone they can trust about what’s really going on with them. If they do have mania, they should try grounding techniques, mindfulness and meditation too. There are also websites where help is offered for free in the form of active listeners who listen to you anonymously say whatever’s on your mind. One of such websites is 7cups.com. They also provide resources for meditation and self-care. Please be safe.
