Anaemia leads to low tissue oxygen perfusion. If not properly managed, it may lead to Crisis and eventual loss of patients life. It may develop as a result of too few red blood cells or dysfunctional red blood cells. Sickle cell anaemia is a form of anaemia common in blacks. It is usually passed from either father or mother to children (offspring).
